Mercedes F1 team robbed at gunpoint outside Brazilian Grand Prix circuit

Simon Lazenby is joined by Martin Brundle and Johnny Herbert to preview the major talking points ahead of the Brazilian GP

Members of Lewis Hamilton's world-championship winning Mercedes team were robbed at gunpoint as they left the Interlagos circuit on Friday night.

Though the championship is settled, Bottas has hopes of overtaking Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) for second place.

In fact, more such incidents happened around the same time as Hamilton's team members were being robbed.

He was unhurt and is expected to start the race from the back of the grid.

"In a few occasions, not as many as I would have wanted, I managed to be ahead of him", Bottas told Sky Sports News.

Arctic Blast to Bring Record-Setting Cold Starting Friday
In New York City, Central Park dipped below its record low of 28 degrees Saturday, according to the weather service. A little warmup on Sunday with temperatures back in the upper 40s and a chance for rain showers by Sunday evening.

"I'm okay. It happened really quickly".

"I just need to take whatever bubble of negativity comes from that experience and move forwards and try and grow from it". In a series of tweets, Hamilton said that gunshots were fired and a member of the team even had a firearm held to their head.

Hamilton, 32, sealed his fourth world title - and third in the past four seasons - on October 29 at the Mexico Grand Prix.

"I am still a bit shaken, but it is a good feeling". The laps were getting better and better, but it was all the time very close, so I'm pleased that in the end I could get it all together in Q3, get a good lap and put it on pole.

His teammate Valtteri Bottas took pole position.

Marbury, meanwhile, was a prep legend who played one season at Georgia Tech before being drafted fourth overall in 1996. This won't be the final highlight he creates, but it could be the last time Fredette and Marbury provide one together.

Another Finn Kimi Raikkonen qualified third in the second Ferrari ahead of Max Verstappen and his Red Bull team-mate Daniel Ricciardo, who faces a grid penalty for the race.

Felipe Massa started his final home race weekend in good fashion for Williams to lead the midfielders in P7 as both McLarens made the top 10 with Stoffel Vandoorne in eighth and Fernando Alonso in P10.

Hartley finished nearly two seconds slower than Bottas in 17th place.

"I think I chickened out a bit on the brakes on the last lap going into Turn One", he said.
