Google Discovers Russia-Backed Ads on YouTube, Gmail

Russian Ad-Buying Scandal Spreads From Facebook Inc (FB) To Instagram

What's more, the Washington Post report - which cites unnamed sources - says the Russian agents appear to be different from the ones who bought ads on Facebook and Twitter.

Russian operatives reportedly bought ads worth $100,000 across Google's platforms in an attempt to interfere with the 2016 USA presidential election.

Google downloaded the data from Twitter and was able to link Russian Twitter accounts to other accounts that had used Google's services to buy ads, the people said.

San Francisco: Google has discovered Russian operatives spent tens of thousands of dollars on ads on YouTube, Gmail, Google search and other products.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein Officially Running Again
Beyond opposition from the left in the media and with some holding office, Feinstein may face problems with California voters. California's increasingly progressive political environment has left more "moderate" Democratic candidates on the defense.

At least one outside researcher has said that the influence of Russian disinformation on Facebook is much greater than the company has so far acknowledged and encompasses paid ads as well as posts published on Facebook pages controlled by Russian agents.

Andrea Faville, a spokesperson for Google previously said no evidence of malicious ad campaigns had been found. Facebook's ads were turned over to the House and Senate intelligence committees and the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Those ads focused on "amplifying divisive social and political messages across the ideological spectrum - touching on topics from LGBT matters to race issues to immigration to gun rights", Facebook's Chief Security Officer Alex Stamos said in a statement. Google reportedly uncovered its problem by searching through Twitter data.

The Indian players played a relative offensive game in the second half compared to the first and had a few opportunities to score. India showed heart but lacked in skill and quality against a much superior United States of America.

The news about Google comes amid a flurry of reports about how Facebook is dealing with bearing the brunt of the blame for "fake news" affecting the election. A source told the paper that the investigation is still ongoing and it is not yet clear whether the ads were all from trolls or whether some were from legitimate accounts.

However, the company launched an investigation after Congress urged the technology giant to determine whether the Russians used its various platforms in order to meddle in the election.

Facebook and Twitter will appear before the US Congress to testify to Russian interference during the 2016 US election while Google was yet to confirm its appearance.
