Three dead after 'likely terrorist attack' in France

French soldiers shoot dead knife attacker who shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ killed 2 in Marseille

French Police have warned people to stay clear of the main train station in Marseille, amid reports of a knife attacker shot dead by police.

Security forces have increasingly been targeted by militants in knife attacks.

"This act could be terrorist in nature, but at this time we cannot confirm it", Collomb said at a press briefing in front of the station.

"Two victims have been stabbed to death", De Mazieres said without elaborating.

Newcastle vs Liverpool: Paul Merson reveals prediction for Premier League clash
According to WhoScored.com , Adam Lallana, Adam Bogdan and Nathaniel Clyne remain sidelined due to injury for the visitors. Now at Newcastle , the former Liverpool manager has yet to taste defeat against Sunday's opponents at St James' Park.

Interior Minister Gerard Collomb, who went to Marseille to meet local authorities and troops at the scene, said police had video showing the man attacking a woman and running away, then coming back and attacking a second woman.

Police cordoned off the area. Reuters adds word from witnesses, who say that the suspect shouted, "Allahu Akbar" (God is greatest) while he carried out the violence.

One victim had her throat slit and the other was stabbed in the stomach.

French media are reporting that two people were killed in the attack, and that the knife-wielding man shouted "Allah Ackbar" in the course of the incident. The man was said to be of North African appearance, but his identity remained unclear.

German supermarket food poisoned by extortionist seeking millions
Still, police told consumers to check the safety seals on products they buy and report suspected tampering to the authorities. Several jars of baby food that had been contaminated with a liquid used in anti-freeze were subsequently recovered by police.

France's national train operator SNCF has asked people to postpone planned journeys via the station.

While France has been hit by a string of terror attacks in recent years there have also been deadly incidents which investigators concluded were motivated more by the attacker's psychological disorders than terrorism, notably when a man rammed his vehicle into a bus stop in Marseille last August. The Islamic State said the attacker was one of its "soldiers".

France has been in a state of emergency since November 2015 after Islamic extremists attacked a concert hall in Paris and attacked several restaurants and bars.

On Sunday, French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted that he was "deeply angered by this barbaric act", and said he shared the pain of the families and friends of the victims.

UK Civil Aviation Authority: Ryanair take care of your passengers now!
Ryanair earlier cancelled up to 50 flights a day through to the end of October, also affecting 400,000 passengers. The budget airline said it had taken on more extra staff to process the expected increase in customer claims.

In a statement released by its Amaq propaganda agency, ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack and said "the executor of the stabbing operation in the city of Marseille... is from the soldiers of ISIS".
