Jemele Hill: ESPN Revolt Kept Her on Air, Think Progress Reports

0:41 | Tech & Media Jemele Hill Hears From ESPN After Calling Donald Trump A White Supremacist

Many users expressed shock at the idea of the White House encouraging ESPN to fire someone for criticizing the president.

Trump tweeted 7:20 a.m. Friday morning, September 15, that the network should "Apologize for untruth!" after bashing it for its politics and "bad programming".

Others came to her defence, including National Football League reporter Jim Trotter, who tweeted: "Proud to call you a colleague and a friend".

ESPN host Jemele Hill has addressed her comments on Twitter Monday in which she called President Donald Trump a white supremacist.

ESPN said Hill's comments do not represent the position of the network, but they took no disciplinary action against her. ThinkProgress also reports ESPN asked two other black personalities, Michael Eaves and Elle Duncan, to host the show, but they declined.

Prolific Perera helps World XI set up Pakistan decider
It was left to Ahmed Shehzad and Babar Azam to fix the innings, like they did with their 122-run stand on Tuesday. This time they added 59 to steer Pakistan to 100 before Shehzad fell, followed 35 runs later by Azam.

As Business Insider sports editor Cork Gaines wrote on Wednesday, the key difference between the punishments for Hill and Schilling was that Schilling had crossed the proverbial line several times.

The Washington Post said, confronted with a situation in which it might have to replace both Hill and Smith with white hosts, ESPN asked her to join him on the air on Wednesday, per ThinkProgress.

After the press secretary's remark, Twitter users started mocking at her.

She added: "Trump is the most ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime".

A source familiar with the matter confirmed to Business Insider that Cohn did in fact meet with ESPN president John Skipper following the comments.

Donald Trump Jr issued congratulations on Twitter , and joked about "older brother revenge" for Eric buying his kids a drum set. The North Carolina-born Lara Trump, a former producer at "Inside Edition", was a frequent presence on the campaign trail.

"I do", she said, "and I think they laid that out themselves by suspending one of their anchors for political comments".

Three weeks ago, ESPN said it pulled broadcaster Robert Lee, who is Asian-American, from the Virginia football season opener because of violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.

But it turns out ESPN tried to get her off the show, and failed. "But I'll leave that up to them to decide, and I'll stay focused on my day job".

Hill appeared in her regular co-hosting slot Wednesday evening, talking about the Cleveland Indians and pro football but not her foray into politics.
