Trump tweets backhanded warning to North Korea, mentions upgraded USA nuclear arsenal

The first order I gave to my generals. was this: "'I want our nuclear arsenal to be the biggest and finest in the world.' And we spent a lot of money, a lot of time, a lot of effort, and it's in tip-top shape, getting better, getting stronger".

While Trump does appear to be sending a clear warning to North Korea, the stakes aren't limited to a legalistic reading of Twitter's policies.

His comments come as the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that he is troubled by the "increasing confrontational rhetoric".

Experts were quick to push back on the president's tweet, saying the US's nuclear arsenal hasn't actually changed much in the six months since Trump took office. "It is now far stronger and more powerful than ever before".

Rice insisted the Washington can tolerate a nuclear North Korea, 'the same way we tolerated the far greater threat of thousands of Soviet nuclear weapons during the Cold War'.

While nobody wants to see 2 Chainz suffer, the bulk of the focus pertained to his Pretty Girls Like Trap Music tour, which faced risk of cancellation in light of the injury.

Trump retweeted news coverage about his heated rhetoric Wednesday.

"President Trump has basically drawn a red line".

North Korea has made no secret of its plans to develop a nuclear-tipped missile able to strike the United States and has ignored all calls to halt its weapons programs.

She went to argue that 'the first scenario is folly, but a United States decision to start a pre-emptive war on the Korean Peninsula, in the absence of an imminent threat, would be lunacy'.

The South Carolina lawmaker - a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee - tells CBS' "This Morning" that war would be "horrific" and he believes "we're headed that way unless the world can stop North Korea". One said "Trump vows US "power" will meet North Korean threat".

There were unconfirmed reports that Zakir Musa, a former Hizbul Mujahideen commander, could be in the area. Musa was made the head of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, the Al-Qaeda cell in Kashmir, in June this year.

The US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson meanwhile has moved to defend his president's remarks insisting he chose his words carefully.

If Ukraine and Russian Federation can be said to engage in public diplomacy on Twitter when they battle each other with memes, then it could also arguably be a form of diplomacy for Trump to seek to deter North Korea with tweets, alarming as those tweets may be.

The lawmakers noted that they wrote to Trump in late May raising similar concerns but had not received a response.

North Korea said it was "carefully examining" a plan to strike Guam, which is home to about 163,000 people and a US military base that includes a submarine squadron, an airbase and a Coast Guard group.
