Gold up for fourth straight session on North Korea tensions

Geopolitical tension persisted after a North Korean army commander said "sound dialogue is not possible" with U.S. President DonaldTrump and "only absolute force can work on him", according to state media.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 35 points, or 1.4 percent, to 2,438, its biggest drop since mid-May.

The dollar held steady at 110.02 yen, having pulled up from Wednesday's low of 109.56 yen, its lowest level since June 15.

Chinese stocks seemed little affected though, and Australian stocks rose Wednesday after a weaker Tuesday amid strong earnings reports from big banks.

Simmering tensions with North Korea were also weighing on the market in early trading Thursday.

Analysts Opinions on: Physicians Realty Trust (DOC)
