Eight army jawans among 15 martyred in Quetta terrorist attack

At least 8 military personnel among 15 martyred while over 25 were injured in an explosion targetting an Army truck near Quetta's Pishin Stop, ISPR said.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa condemned the terrorist attack and said that such terror-inducing attacks can not shatter our hopes.

Bugti said firefighters were working to put out the blaze.

Eight soldiers were among 17 killed in the blast and 10 soldiers were also said to be injured. "Investigations are continuing but I can confirm it was a big explosion and there are around two dozen injured who are being shifted to nearby hospitals", Bugti said. Pakistan army has now taken control of the affected area, it said.

According to the Dawn newspaper, citing Home Minister of the Balochistan province Sarfaraz Bugti, civilians as well as security forces officials are among the victims.
