Obamacare repeal vote delayed as Republicans tussle

While a vote would not be expected until after the July 4 recess, the Friday deadline would allow time for a bill to be evaluated by Capitol Hill's budget scorekeepers so lawmakers can take it up when they get back.

It may be an unattainable mission given the divide between the moderate and hardcore conservative Senate Republicans over legislation to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act known as Obamacare.

After days of arm-twisting, Senate Republican leaders on Tuesday essentially conceded that they had not secured the votes to move forward on a massive overhaul of the American health care system and would pick up the issue again in July.

"This will be great if we get it done, and if we don't get it done it's just going to be something that we're not going to like, and that's OK and I understand that very well".

The CBO also said that the Republicans' plan would trim the deficit by $321 million, cap Medicaid spending and that numerous 22 million who would end up uninsured would be people who chose not to buy insurance after the repeal of the individual mandate. Susan Collins, a moderate Republican from Maine.

Three more Republicans, Rob Portman of Ohio, Jerry Moran of Kansas and Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, said after the delay was announced that they opposed the current draft of the legislation.

At the centre of these ransomware outbreaks is a Microsoft Windows security vulnerability called EternalBlue. Researchers said the ransomware virus is a worm that infects networks by moving from computer to computer.

The plan has been widely criticised amid fears that millions will lose their health insurance coverage. This approach has been labeled by critics as Obamacare light.

Five GOP senators had said they would refuse to bring McConnell's bill to the Senate floor: Dean Heller of Nevada, Rand Paul of Kentucky, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Susan Collins of ME and Mike Lee of Utah in saying they would refuse to bring the bill to the Senate floor. When it comes to health care, the main thing the bill does is take money away from providing it to pay for the tax reductions it contains and for future bonanzas the Republicans have promised. And vice versa if he appeases conservatives by completely gutting Obamacare's mandates.

"McConnell has made it clear to the base of the Republican Party he wouldn't like to have Democratic votes be part of the solution because it would somehow corrupt what he's trying to do", Bennet said in an interview with Next. "He wanted to talk to all of us today".

"There is a sliver where all these circles overlap and if anyone can find it, McConnell can find it", Jennings said. But he predicted that Republicans will at least "get very close" and may "get it over the line".

The latest Congressional Budget Office estimates of the bill are atrocious by any interpretation. He hopes that will get 50 of the 100 senators "in a comfortable place".

Paul already met with President Trump on Tuesday to discuss health care.

Census 2016: Fewer Aussies identify with religion
Australia is becoming older and more diverse - both culturally and religiously - according to new data from the country's census . According to the census , New South Wales was the most religious state with 66 percent claiming to be religious.

Democrats, meanwhile, gave it 78% disapproval and 8% approval. If Congress doesn't go through with a repeal of the ACA, 37% of Americans said they would blame congressional Republicans, 23% would blame Democrats and 15% would blame Trump.

First, abandon tax breaks for the wealthy, abandon cuts to Medicaid, abandon repeal.

The Times also reported that Republican senators, including McConnell, expressed frustration with ads from a pro-Trump nonprofit group attacking GOP Sen.

Fifty-five percent of the 1,205 people polled said they disapprove of the bill, and 25% said they hadn't heard enough about it to form an opinion.

Europol: Tuesday's Worldwide Cyberattack 'More Sophisticated' Than Previous Hacks
The spread of the attack across the globe and into Asia underscores how ransomware is becoming a routine risk of doing business. Several Ukrainian ministries, local banks, and the Kyiv metro system were affected by the attack , the government said.
