Rockets a 'serious threat' to sign Chris Paul
Chris Paul will become an unrestricted free agent after opting out of the final year of his five-year contract on July 1. Stein reported Rockets star James Harden has expressed interest in wanting to play with Paul.

"The PILT program is an important resource for counties across the country to provide essential services to their citizens", the release said.

Despite his concerns, Blattie said having a Secretary of the Interior like Zinke, who comes from a state where these funds are important, is an advantage for negotiating future PILT payments, saying there is time for Congress to change their minds before June of 2018. Blaine, Camas, Cassia, Gooding, Jerome Lincoln, Minidoka and Twin Falls counties are getting a combined $8.46 million out of the $30 million going to Idaho.

Expansion Vegas Golden Knights make their roster choices
The 10-time 20-goal scorer gives Vegas immediate top-line scoring punch, and the Predators couldn't work out a trade to spare him. Vegas picked up three goalies, 14 forwards and 13 defensemen in the choices announced during the NHL's annual awards show.

The payments are made annually for tax-exempt federal lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management, the National Park Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (all agencies of the Interior Department), the U.S. Forest Service (part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture), and for federal water projects and some military installations. Funding for the payments comes from the almost $9 billion in annual revenue the Department of Interior collects from commercial activities on federal lands, including energy development, livestock grazing and timber harvests. The balance is deposited in the U.S. Treasury, which in turn pays for a broad array of federal activities, including PILT funding to counties.
