Nancy Pelosi lauds her own leadership record after Democratic losses

President Donald Trump speaks during a bill signing event for the

Pelosi has been facing questions about her leadership since Democrats lost the hard-fought race. She referenced that the GOP spent millions of dollars promoting House Speaker Paul Ryan since he was on the 2012 ticket as the vice presidential ticket and "I have a hundred million or so spent against me and his numbers are no better than mine". Pelosi was the focus of negative advertising casting her as a San Francisco liberal and linking her to the Democratic candidate.

They explain their totals includes money raised for the party not directly controlled by her committees.

As President Donald Trump celebrated Republican victories in two special congressional elections on Wednesday, one man who advised presidents from both parties warned the results "should be a wake-up call for Democrats" that Trump could be on his way to re-election in 2020.

Some House Democrats are unhappy with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and are calling for new leadership after losing all four special elections to replace newly appointed Trump cabinet members.

According to Politico, the movement is spearheaded by three lawmakers: Reps. Vela's comments come after he and several Democratic colleagues met privately Thursday afternoon to discuss ousting the house minority leader. "If the [marginal swing from November] holds true in a year, we sweep the House". "This is good news for us", she said.

That is my target and that's why every day I work hard and try to make the most out of every situation and the race weekend. But Hamilton didn't deny that he wanted to go out on a high rather than fade away as a spent force overstaying his welcome.

Pelosi said Thursday that she has "always featured the young 30-somethings". During a debate with Ossoff, she insisted that she wasn't "an extension of the White House".

It's true Trump isn't wildly popular here, and Handel and her campaign underwhelmed some Republicans. "And a member of Congress grabbed me tonight and said 'please tell you're not gonna get rid of Nancy Pelosi, please tell me she's not gonna retire because that's who I run against'". I have enormous respect for her.

Again, this isn't going to really happen, but it does show that there are more than a few Democrats who know what the problem is, know that their party has moved so far to the left on cultural issues that they can't connect with moderate suburban voters, and this crew could be the ones who either lead or show the way for Democrats out of this political funk.

And Rep. Tim Ryan criticized Pelosi along with his party's brand and its outreach to voters.

Several Democratic lawmakers have said Pelosi's position as a prominent face of the Democratic Party will continue to make winning elections hard. Pelosi's PAC gave $496,000.

There are many more people today, even from November, who are much more vocal, who have approached us and said, 'I'm done. "But her time has come and gone". "We need a winning strategy and I think the first step to getting a winning strategy is a change in leadership", Rice said on CNN. Yet in Ossoff, the party had hoped that they had found a new way to defeat the Republicans with a "message of peace and civility".

"With Hollywood elites and Nancy Pelosi bankrolling his campaign, it's no secret that Ossoff would rubber stamp Pelosi's failed agenda of bigger government and more spending", Corey Bliss, executive director of the GOP-friendly Congressional Leadership Fund, said just before the Georgia election.

Wednesday, Pelosi wanted to spend her weekly press conference slamming the Republicans Senate health bill.

"It's a tactic. And it's self-evident", Pelosi said.

She acknowledged the attacks but added: "I think I'm worth the trouble".
