Letter to the Editor: Activists right on Senate health care bill

To explain the reason for his dissatisfaction, Obama shared the possible effects of the Senate Health Care Bill.

"I don't believe that the president has specifically weighed in that it's right to cut Medicaid", Sanders said, adding that Trump will continue to negotiate with the Congress "until we get the best bill that we can".

No Democrat is supporting the plan which means Republicans can only afford to lose two Republican votes in the Senate or else the bill will fail.

"That's what consumers want, and that's what the Republican majority should give to them".

"[The Better Care Act] takes insurance away from tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Nevadans", Heller said, echoing a sentiment expressed in his initial statement on the bill, when it came out Thursday.

Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst is suggesting Iowans would not be losing Medicaid coverage even as the Senate GOP health care bill would phase out financing to expand the low-income insurance program.

Eight killed in Pakistan blast
Officials at the city's Civil Hospital said at least 13 people were killed and around 20 injured, mostly by shrapnel. Security forces have reached the area, which has been cordoned off, and an initial investigation is underway.

"It's going to be very hard to get me to a yes", Heller said at a press conference in Las Vegas.

The Senate is considering a bill to replace it after the House of Representatives passed their own version.

A number of Republicans such as Susan Collins and ME said it was "too soon" to judge the bill until they had had a chance to read it.

After almost eight years in a dark closet, the Republican Senate's version of a health care bill has finally seen the light of day.

"I recognize that repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act has become a core tenet of the Republican Party", Obama wrote in a Facebook post.

Nationally, at least four Republicans have said they are not ready to support the bill as it is written.

Around 60 protesters had gathered outside Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's office for a "die-in" demonstration against the federal cuts to healthcare.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association represents plans that are the backbone of HealthCare.gov and state health insurance markets created under former President Barack Obama's law.

Much of the architecture of the House's American Health Care Act has been left intact. They'd like to get certain changes.

Heller also warned that Trumpcare would strip coverage from "millions of Americans".

"There are lots of frustrated senators saying they didn't like the process of writing this bill, [but] none of them saying they would use their power to do anything about it", says Zwillich.
