Mueller investigating Trump for obstruction of justice

The No. 2 official at the U.S. Justice Department on Tuesday told Congress the special counsel investigating Russia's alleged interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and possible collusion with the Trump campaign is going to have "the full degree of independence" he needs.

The Post reported that Mueller and his team are interviewing senior intelligence officials about Trump's role.

The Washington Post and The New York Times both said Mr Mueller was seeking interviews with three Trump administration officials who were not involved in his campaign - director of national intelligence Dan Coats, head of the National Security Agency Michael Rogers and Richard Ledgett, the NSA's former deputy director.

Coats, who said last week that he would be willing to discuss such matters in a closed setting, is set to speak with members of the committee in a closed session on Thursday, according to NBC news.

Former FBI Director James Comey, who testified under oath before Congress last week, indicated that he told Trump on multiple occasions that he personally was not under investigation during the Russian Federation probe.

A spokesman for one of Trump's attorneys fired back at Wednesday's fresh round of allegations: "The FBI leak of information regarding the President is outrageous, inexcusable and illegal".

New Yoshi Game Revealed At E3 2017
For several years now Nintendo has forgone the traditional E3 stage presentation in favor of a pre-prepared livestream. All in all, the game just looks a lot more complex and well thought-out over other titles similar to this.

Given that as Federal Bureau of Investigation director Comey was overseeing the probe into Russian Federation, and its possible collusion with the Trump team, the firing has led to questions about potential obstruction of justice.

The White House declined to comment, referring questions to Kasowitz.

"We had a constructive meeting with the special counsel today and we look forward to future engagements", Mr. Burr and Mr. Warner said in a joint statement Wednesday.

Trump friend Ruddy, the CEO of Newsmax, went so far as to suggest the president was already thinking about "terminating" Mueller from his position as special counsel.

The report that Trump himself is being scrutinized for obstruction of justice served to undercut Trump's claims.

Deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Mr Mueller last month, testified on Tuesday that he had seen no evidence of good cause to sack him.

When asked about a letter he wrote recommending firing Comey, Rosenstein said that Mueller could be looking into the decision-making process for the firing - and he was therefore "not at liberty to talk about that now".

Mueller met with Sens.

At a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing last week, Coats and Rogers refused to answer whether Trump asked them to intervene in the investigation.

Mueller's requests to interview the officials signals that his investigation is expanding to include the possibility that Trump tried to obstruct justice, according to The Times.

The president then started complaining about the FBI investigation and Comey's handling of it, said officials familiar with the account Coats gave to associates.
