Iran intelligence ministry reveals identity of terrorists killed in Tehran attacks

Although the United States military is also fighting Daesh in Syria, as well as Iraq, President Donald Trump said in response to the attacks in Iran that the country is reaping what it sows.

Wednesday's attacks on Iran's parliament and the tomb of its revolutionary leader killed at least 17 people and wounded more than 40.

The Islamic State group later claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard has accused regional rival Saudi Arabia of involvement in the attacks and the assaults have further fuelled tension between Riyadh and Tehran as they vie for control of the Gulf and influence in the wider Islamic world. Its success was the more remarkable in that Iran is one of the most securitized states in the world.

Iran's foreign minister rejected Donald Trump's condolences Thursday after a pair of ISIS-claimed attacks in Tehran, calling the president's words "repugnant". They've argued the deal only delayed Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons and failed to allow the kind of inspections of its atomic sites that would guarantee Tehran was not cheating.

Iranian authorities have arrested seven people suspected of helping militants involved in this week's attacks in the capital Tehran, a judiciary official said on Saturday, according to Reuters. When the Persian-language ISIS video first came out in March, Iranian officials said it was a sign of Islamic State's desperation and increasing impotency.

Abu Aisha was killed and the network forced to flee the country, the statement said. The video emerged before Iranian media reported that the siege had ended, with four attackers killed.

On Friday, the USA embassy in Saudi Arabia issued a security notice to United States citizens recommending that they "exercise caution in places frequented by foreigners due to the continuing risk of terrorist attacks. across the Kingdom".

In a world of increasing danger from the global threat of terrorism pushed by Islamic State extremists, another potential danger area has come up in the Middle East, where several Arab nations have cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, one of the Gulf States, over its alleged support for terrorist groups.

Latest developments in North Korea
The official said US officials had been "in close contact with our ally South Korea " on the matter. North Korea has also tested medium-range ballistic missiles that could strike the USA base on Guam.

The comments sparked anger from Iranians on social media, who recalled the vigils in Tehran that followed the September 11 attacks.

A statement by the intelligence ministry issued on Thursday said that the men who carried out the twin attacks had left Iran to fight for ISIL in the Iraqi city of Mosul, as well as Raqqa, in Syria - the armed group's de facto capital - before returning last summer.

Meanwhile, President Trump's statement on the attack has prompted criticism in Iran.

A gunman is seen entering Iranian parliament building in a still image taken from close circuit television (CCTV), taken on June 7, 2017, in Tehran, Iran. Should Iranians be alarmed that such an attack could be perpetrated on its soil by an organization that is extremely anti-Shiite?

Reportedly two guards, 10 government staffers and five civilians were killed in the attacks that simultaneously targeted the country's parliament and shrine of late founder of the Islamic Republic Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

Iran arrests seven for supporting Tehran attacks
The first of several global regime changes the USA imposed, particularly in Central and South America, in the following decades. One of the men speaks in the Sorani dialect common among Kurds in northeastern Iraq and northwestern Iran.

The attacks were the first claimed by Islamic State inside tightly controlled Iran, one of the powers leading the fight against the militants in Iraq and Syria.
