Turkey calls for dialogue over Qatar rift with Arab states

Since 1995, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its brothers have made strenuous and continued efforts to urge the authorities in Doha to abide by its commitments and agreements, yet, they have repeatedly violated their worldwide obligations and the agreements they signed under the umbrella of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States to cease the hostilities against the Kingdom and stand against terrorist groups and activities of which the latest one was their failure to implement Riyadh Agreement.

The tiny island nation of Bahrain blamed Qatar's "media incitement, support for armed terrorist activities and funding linked to Iranian groups to carry out sabotage and spreading chaos in Bahrain" for its decision. However, local media reports painted a different picture - the damage was already done. After the President left the region, Qatari's state news agency published quotes from Qatari's president criticizing Trump's policy toward Iran, and spoke highly of Iran, referring to it as an "Islamic power".

Saudi Arabia's civil aviation authority said any carrier from a third country wishing to fly over the kingdom to Qatar would need to apply within a week for special permission.

"One of its pitches (to secure the World Cup) was that Qatar is one of the most stable countries in the Middle East", he told AFP.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar said the diplomatic break and the statements made by the others were "unjustified and are based on baseless and unfounded allegations".
