Qatar row: Six countries cut links with Doha

The Saudi Press Agency said the Saudi government would also reach out to its allies "and start the immediate legal procedures for understanding with fraternal and friendly countries and global companies to implement the same procedure as soon as possible for all means of transport to and from the State of Qatar, for reasons related to Saudi national security".

Qatar's cabinet said earlier on Monday it was still open for trade. Data from 2015 revealed that the two countries were the top two food exporters to Qatar at 310 million dollars.

Iran has called Persian Gulf Arab states to resolve their current disputes through dialogue.

Decision made because of the Maldives "firm opposition to activities that encourage terrorism and extremism". All members of Qatar's diplomatic missions in those countries have been given 48 hours to leave.

Saudi Arabia closed its land border with Qatar, through which the tiny Gulf nation imports most of its food, sparking a run on supermarkets.

In response to the concerns, a FIFA spokesperson told Omnisport: "FIFA is in regular contact with the Qatar 2022 Local Organising Committee and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy handling matters relating to the 2022 FIFA World Cup".

Air Arabia, a low-priced airline based in the United Arab Emirates, said it is suspending flights to Qatar along with other Emirati airlines over a growing diplomatic crisis.

The Saudi-led coalition has announced that Qatar's participation in its joint military operation in Yemen has been canceled.

Economic consequences were already emerging, with UAE carriers Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and Air Arabia, as well as Saudi Airlines, announcing the suspension of all flights to and from Qatar as of Tuesday morning.

"I do not expect that this will have any significant impact - if any impact at all - on the unified fight against terrorism in the region or globally", Tillerson said in Sydney, where he's attending security talks along with Mattis.

Qatar also hosts the USA military's Central Command and some 10,000 United States troops, with American forces using its Al-Udeid airbase.

Gulf Air suspends flights to and from Qatar
It was not immediately clear if Qatar Airways would also suspend flights to other countries. The countries also said they would eject Qatar's diplomats from their territories.

U.S. defense companies in Qatar eyeing it as a center for maintenance; fix and overhaul and a gateway to other Arab nations will also face hurdles due the boycott Qatar is facing.

Saudi Arabia is also shutting its border to neighboring Qatar, locking the state out of its only over-land border crossing.

The last flight from the capital to Doha is scheduled to depart at 2.45am on Tuesday.

Etihad gave no reason for the decision. In March 2014, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain recalled their ambassadors from Qatar over the rift.

The United Arab Emirates and Egypt have cut diplomatic ties to Qatar.

Saudi Arabia also said Qatari troops would be pulled from the ongoing war in Yemen. It has spiraled since.

Saudi Arabian Airlines has also suspended all flights to Qatar, it said on its official Twitter account on Monday, without providing further details.

Portland free speech rally, counter protests draw thousands
The group was met by thousands of counter-protesters organized by immigrant rights, religious and labor groups. The event organized by the group Patriot Prayer was billed on its Facebook page as a Trump Free Speech Rally .

"The measures are unjustified and are based on claims and allegations that have no basis in fact", the statement said, adding that the decisions would "not affect the normal lives of citizens and residents".
