UK Police Arrest 2 More Bomb Suspects as Threat Level is Reduced

His comments come after Manchester police made a decision to withhold information about the attack, which claimed 22 lives and left dozens more injured, from the US.

British Prime Minister Theresa May says the country's threat level from terrorism had been reduced from its top level of "critical", which indicates an attack is imminent.

The change means that an attack is highly likely and not imminently expected.

Police on Saturday released security camera images of Manchester suicide bomber Salman Abedi on the night he massacred 22 people at a pop concert.

Mark Rowley, Assistant Commissioner for Specialist Operations in the Metropolitan Police Service, said detectives had made "immense progress" in the investigation, but warned there were still "important lines of inquiry" to pursue.

United Kingdom authorities have disrupted five plots since March 22, when a terror attack outside Parliament in London left five people dead, Security Minister Ben Wallace said.

The ages of the detained men range from 18 to 38.

Eight arrested till now in Manchester bombing
German security sources told Focus magazine Salman Abedi flew home to Manchester via Düsseldorf before carrying out the bombing. Her partner, Ian Winslow, later said on Facebook: "Kelly Brewster wasn't one of the unidentified hospital patients".

Manchester Islamic Centre board of trustees director Mohammad el-Khayat used a sermon before Friday afternoon prayers to strongly condemn the attack at the Manchester Arena that killed 22 people.

"This is due to the fact that the government of Great Britain has raised the level of the terrorist threat in the country to the maximum possible", it said.

People attend a service at the Angel of the North in Gateshead, England, in memory of Manchester bombing victims Courtney Boyle and stepfather Philip Tron, Friday, May 26, 2017.

Abedi died in Monday's blast the Grande concert.

Mr Rowley admitted there were still "gaps in our understanding" of 22-year-old Abedi's network and said it will "take a little more time" to close them.

The senior officer also issued a defiant message as he urged people to go about their business as normal over the bank holiday weekend.

Police arrested two more people and were on Thursday searching a new site in Manchester suspected of links to the bombing that killed 22 people at a pop concert, as British authorities complained bitterly about investigation leaks by US officials.

It will be the city's first major gig since the attack.

However, there is a darker side to life in the city in the wake of the bombing.
