Eight arrested till now in Manchester bombing

Security forces rounded up more suspects Wednesday in the deadly Manchester concert blast and soldiers fanned out across the country to national landmarks as an on-edge Britain tried to thwart the possibility of additional attacks.

The sophistication of the bombing has led British security forces to conclude that the perpetrator of the assault in Manchester received support from a network of extremists.

Many at the concert were young girls and teens enthralled by Grande's pop power.

Another possible link under investigation is whether Abedi had ties to Raphael Hostey, a jihadist recruiter who was killed in Syria, the officials said. Police have said they have arrested eight individuals in Manchester linked to the attack.

The Chelsea soccer team announced it would cancel Sunday's victory parade in London that was to have celebrated the team's Premier League title win this season.

US President Donald Trump says that "deeply troubling" leaks to US media about the Manchester suicide bombing will be investigated, after irate British police briefly stopped sharing information with US agencies. German security sources told Focus magazine Salman Abedi flew home to Manchester via Düsseldorf before carrying out the bombing. Greater Manchester Police later carried out a controlled explosion nearby.

Residents described Abedi as an "awkward" young man and an "isolated, dark figure" who talked to few people and traveled back and forth between Britain and Libya. Two others had been arrested have been released without charges.

"We mourn the lives of children and loved ones taken by this cowardly act".

"I spoke to him about five days ago ... there was nothing wrong, everything was normal", Abedi said. "They arrested the father, and I think the rest of the family kind of disappeared". To meet their friends they've made online.

"And they know me and my sons well".

The Houses of Parliament have been closed for visits.

They said one thread of the inquiry involved pursuing whether Abedi was part of a larger terror cell that included Mohamed Abrini, otherwise known as "the man in the hat", with connections to the Brussels and Paris attacks.

British Prime Minister Theresa May will meet Donald Trump on Thursday to talk about leaks to the U.S. media.

Michael Pineda (6-2) tossed six innings of three-hit ball to win his third straight start and match last season's win total. Including his rehab assignment, Mengden is 2-1 with a 2.21 ERA in four Triple-A starts this year.

Officials are probing how often Abedi had travelled to Libya, which has seen an eruption of armed Islamist groups since dictator Moammar Gadhafi was overthrown and killed in 2011.

Critics accuse Belhaj and other members of the group of maintaining secretive links with Islamist groups.

Russian authorities on Friday warned its citizens against visiting Britain after London raised its threat level in the wake of the Manchester suicide attack.

The leak prompted Home Secretary Amber Rudd to launch into a "highly unusual public criticism" of Britain's foremost ally, says the Daily Mail, calling the leak "irritating" and saying she had spoken to United States officials to warn against further indiscretions. "That's why there are concerns that a bombmaker is still out there", said a European security official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters. Grande took to Twitter to express her grief and sympathy for those who died, saying she was "broken" by the attack. Sixty-four people remain hospitalized, Rouse added.

The bombing also left 64 people wounded, of whom 20 were receiving critical care for highly traumatic injuries to major organs and to limbs, a health official said.

Her partner, Ian Winslow, later said on Facebook: "Kelly Brewster wasn't one of the unidentified hospital patients".
