Daily drinking could lead to increased risk of breast cancer

A new breast cancer report is offering women guidance when it comes to risky and mitigating behavior.

According to a report from Science Daily, a major new report by the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) and the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) collated the report on the habits and lifestyle factors that can contribute to an increase or decrease in breast cancer risk.

The analysis of premenopausal women included 10 large cohort studies, in which more than 4,000 women developed breast cancer.

Dr. Anne McTiernan of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, is one of the authors.

Almodovar, who is gay, choked back tears when he spoke of film's portrayal of "the heroes who saved many lives". You Were Never Really Here also took the best actor prize, for Joaquin Phoenix's turn as a troubled hitman.

The risk is lower in pre-menopausal women.

Investigators also found that vigorous exercise such as running or fast bicycling decreases the risk of premenopausal and post-menopausal breast cancer, and moderate exercise decreases the risk of post-menopausal breast cancer. While the increase in risk for drinking an average of 10 grams of alcohol per day was relatively small - about 5 percent - it is still statistically significant.

Drinking wine increases risk of breast cancer in women.

By the way, the reason for the relationship of alcohol and breast cancer is still not sufficiently studied. Total moderate activity - which includes gardening and walking - was linked to a 13 percent decrease in risk when comparing the most active to the least active women.

Instead, the Lakers jumped the Suns for second overall and the 76ers moved from the fourth-best odds into the number three slot. The Celtics were going to be in prime position no matter how the Ping-Pong balls bounced in a hotel ballroom Tuesday.

Dr Rachel Thompson, head of research interpretation at the WCRF, said: "To help prevent breast cancer, one of the most important steps women can take is to not drink alcohol or reduce the amount of alcohol they drink".

In the course of their inquiry, the researchers hoped to find how the variables of diet, weight, and exercise impacted one's likelihood of developing breast cancer. A standard drink has 14 grams of alcohol. Limited evidence also shows that dairy products, diets high in calcium, and foods containing carotenoids are associated with lowering the risk of some types of breast cancer.

Alice Bender, a nutritionist at the American Institute for Cancer Research, said "vigorous" activity should be sufficiently intense that it's hard to carry on a sustained conversation.
